Dr. Sujecki studied German and Dutch law at the Leibnitz Universität Hannover, Germany, the Rijksuniversiteit Gronigen, the Netherlands, and the Universiteit van Amsterdam. In 2008, he has received a PhD on a comparative study on the introduction of electronic court proceedings from the Universiteit Utrecht. Before he became an attorney, he worked at a number of Dutch universities, where he gave lectures on civil litigation and private international law.
Before working at Bavelaar Advocaten, Dr. Sujecki has worked at a couple of big Dutch and German law firms, such as Gleiss Lutz, Nauta Dutilh and CMS Derks Star Busmann. Additionally, Dr. Sujecki work in a niche law firm specializing in the field of intellectual property law.
Dr. Sujecki publishes regularly over cross border litigation, intellectual property law and IT law in national and international law jou rnals. With more than 100 publications, he is considered to be one of the experts in the field of cross border litigation in the EU. Additionally, Dr. Sujecki is a member the board of editors of the website www.lsenr.nl and blogs for the website www.europa.ruw.de. Dr. Sujecki is a frequent speaker on conferences and trainings courses for lawyers and judges, such as the European Academy of Law, the Deutsche Richterakademie, the Dutch SSR, the New York State Bar Association, the California State Bar Association and the ITechLaw. In 2009, he was a guest professor at the University of Wroclaw, Poland, where he gave lectures on IT-law and intellectual property law.
Dr. Sujecki is a member of the GRUR, the wissenschaftliche Vereinigung für Internationales Verfahresrecht, and the International Association of Procedural Law. He is fluent in Dutch, German, English and Polish and has good knowledge of French.
